How tickers are bought, sold and launched on One Ticker. These rules are public and enforced by our server and the blockchain. They're v1 values, and we'll post any change here first.

Owning a ticker

A free ticker costs 0.05 SOL. The payment and your NFT are created in the same transaction, so either both happen or neither does. The NFT never expires. While you hold it, nobody else can buy that ticker from One Ticker or launch it here.

The holder of the NFT is the owner. If the NFT moves (sold here, sold on another NFT marketplace or sent to another wallet), the new holder becomes the owner on One Ticker. Before every launch, listing or sale, we check the owner on-chain again.

Selling a ticker

  • You set the price (minimum 0.001 SOL). You can edit or cancel the listing anytime.
  • Your NFT stays in your wallet while it's listed. You approve this listing only, and a new price or a canceled listing makes the old approval useless.
  • The buyer pays in one transaction: 95% to you, 5% to One Ticker, and the NFT goes to the buyer. If the listing changed, already sold or was canceled, the whole transaction fails and nobody pays.
  • No auctions or offers for now, fixed price only.

Exact ticker only

Before we compare tickers, we remove the $ sign and spaces and switch to uppercase. After that, only the exact ticker counts. $CAT, $C4T and $CATT are three different tickers, because a similar ticker can be a different project (like $DOGE and $D5GE).

Protected tickers

Only One Ticker's own names are kept off the market. Every other ticker can be bought or launched, first come, first served. Pretending to be a brand, a person or another project is still against the Terms. The current list (2 tickers):

TICKER ONETICKER

When a ticker becomes free again

  • 90/10 split not finished: a launch that doesn't set the required 90/10 rewards split in time was never official, so the ticker is free again. This also applies to a ticker you owned: the NFT used for the launch is gone and doesn't come back.
  • NFT burned by its holder outside a launch: the ticker is free again.

A launched ticker is never released. Once a coin officially launches on One Ticker, the ticker stays with it for good, even if the coin dies. That keeps the original easy to find.

Edge case: two people at the same time

If two wallets buy the same free ticker or the same listing at the same moment, the blockchain only accepts one transaction. The other one fails and costs nothing. If a direct launch of a free ticker lands on-chain before someone's purchase of the same ticker, the launch wins and we refund the purchase manually.

48-hour reservations (before Sept. 30, 2026)

Since Sept. 30, 2026, you buy tickers instead of reserving them. Reservations made before that date stay valid until they expire. Their holder can still launch with no launch fee, or buy the ticker.
